This venture capital firm in historic Jackson Square, San Francisco wanted an office that communicated sophistication without being stuffy or too “VCish.” They also wanted a beach vibe to remind the owner of his youth growing up in Australia. Our solution was an international mix of emerging furniture and accessory designers, custom built-ins, and rich, patinaed wood tones. Adorned with salvaged Kentucky whiskey barrels and hand-built consoles, the end product has a vintage, one-of-a-kind feel - a far cry from the stodgy and sterile offices that surround it.

Design Team: Katie Storey, Principal - Erin Roberts, Senior Designer - Bertu Home, Custom Millwork

For this design, we found inspiration in a neutral-based color palette of soft whites and warm hickory floors, and pulled it together with black chandeliers, rounded, textile arm chairs and plush area rugs.

Storey Design was an absolute pleasure to work with! Katie and her team know how to navigate the varying styles, needs, and demands of their clients with ease. They magically pull it all together to create a space that has the all the polish and style you’d want, but the warmth, comfort, and positive energy you need. Our office feels like a place I want to live in, not just work!
